Foam filters, state by state.
The same material, specified differently in 32 places. Coastal humidity, desert dust, steel-belt particulate and textile lint are four different problems, and the element that solves one is usually wrong for another.
One material, four problems.
Most foam suppliers quote a grade and a thickness against a price. That works if every customer is breathing the same air, and in India none of them are. Two things genuinely change the right answer, and both vary by region:
- What the dust is. Cotton lint in Tiruppur, stone dust in Kishangarh, alumina in Angul and coke in Bhilai behave completely differently in a filter. Fibrous dust loads by volume and rinses out; fine mineral dust blinds a surface and abrades the strands themselves.
- What the climate does to the polymer. In Kerala, Goa and the North-East humidity, not dust, ends an element's life — polyester foam hydrolyses and crumbles, so the chemistry decision outweighs the grade decision entirely.
The pages below carry the recommendation for each state: the grade, the thickness and the chemistry that its dominant industry and climate actually warrant.
Where it goes wrong.
| Region | The problem | The usual mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Rajasthan | The heaviest mineral dust load in India | Fitting a finer filter. It restricts before it usefully filters — add thickness instead |
| Kerala | Sustained humidity and coastal salt | Buying on price and getting polyester, which hydrolyses and crumbles |
| Chhattisgarh | Steel and power-belt particulate | Anything above 30 PPI. It will starve the fan it was protecting |
| Odisha | Abrasive alumina dust in humid coastal air | Judging life by cleanliness. Abrasion wears the strands — check by feel |

Common questions.
Do you supply foam filters outside Delhi NCR?
Yes, throughout India. Manufacturing is at our own facility in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and finished die-cut elements, gaskets and sheet stock ship to industrial customers in every state. Foam compresses for transit, so it travels well and economically even in volume.
Why does the recommended foam grade change from state to state?
Because the air does. Two factors genuinely drive the specification: the dominant local industry, which sets what kind of dust you are catching — mineral, fibrous, metallic or chemical — and the climate, which sets whether humidity or particulate is the limiting factor. Tiruppur's cotton lint, Kishangarh's stone dust and Kochi's salt-laden humidity are three different problems, and the same element is the wrong answer to at least two of them.
Does humidity or dust matter more when choosing foam?
Whichever will end the element's life first, and that varies by region. In Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Goa and the North-East, humidity governs: polyester foam hydrolyses and crumbles, so polyether chemistry is the whole decision. In Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and the steel belts, dust governs: chemistry is a given and the question becomes how much material you can put in the flow path without restricting it.
Can you supply against a national schedule for multiple plants?
Yes. Where a customer runs several plants in different states, we quote against total annual usage rather than per site, and schedule call-off deliveries to each location. It usually improves the rate and removes the per-plant reordering. Bear in mind the plants may not want the same grade — a coastal site and an inland site often need different chemistry or thickness.
