Can foam be used on extract air in a bulk drug plant?
Usually not, and we would rather say so. Extract air from bulk drug processing frequently carries solvent vapour, and some of that chemistry attacks polyurethane directly — the element degrades and sheds into the duct. Foam belongs on the intake side, protecting a rated filter and the equipment behind it. If you do need media in an extract stream, send the actual solvent list and we will tell you honestly whether polyurethane survives it.
